A weighbridge, or also truck scale and truck scale<\/strong><\/a> is a measuring instrument specially designed for weighing large industrial vehicles and their loads.\nIn most cases, they are used for commercial purposes and are therefore also calibrated.\nToday, modern weighbridges are equipped with advanced electro-mechanical components, whereas in the past, weighbridge manufacturers used purely mechanical scale bases.\nThese weighbridges were designed to be installed above a pit containing levers and other mechanical components.\nThese made it possible to connect the weighing platform to a balancing mechanism that could be used to determine the weight of the vehicle. <\/p>\n\n

However, this type of design proved to be limiting due to the separation between the weighbridge and the balancing element.\nLater developments led to load cells being built into weighbridges so that a completely self-sufficient unit could be created. <\/p>\n\n

In addition, the vehicle weight can be displayed digitally by using load cells with the aid of an analog digital module (ADM).\nThis method is far more accurate than the old-fashioned measuring methods of the past. <\/p>\n\n

The use of PCs and network technology enables operators to monitor or control a weighbridge from a different location.\nRemote operation offers additional flexibility for the staff working with the weighbridges. <\/p>\n\n
