ESSMANN | Waagen & Automation has developed and successfully commissioned an HE-PW 11 platform scale<\/a> for a customer in the waste disposal industry<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Customer<\/h3>\n\n

The customer has over 160 years of experience in the areas of water, waste disposal and energy.\nFor more than 25 years, the customer has been providing high-quality drinking water<\/strong>, environmentally friendly wastewater<\/strong> treatment, professional waste management<\/strong> and recycling as<\/strong> well as a safe and clean energy supply<\/strong> in Germany.\nIt develops customized services along the entire value chain for private and commercial customers as well as retail and industrial companies. <\/p>\n\n

Requirements for the platform scale<\/h3>\n\n

Due to a defect in its existing platform scale, the customer needs to weigh Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC)<\/strong><\/a> a quick replacement.<\/p>\n\n

The verifiable platform scales are installed outdoors and must therefore be designed to be robust.<\/p>\n\n

As different materials are weighed on the platform scale, simple and fast material management should be possible.\nThe weighing ticket is required directly at the platform scale. <\/p>\n\n

Despite the tense market situation with currently long delivery times for the required steel and electronic components, ESSMANN | Waagen & Automation was able to quickly plan and implement a customized solution for the customer.<\/p>\n\n

Technical solution<\/h3>\n\n

ESSMANN | Waagen & Automation advised the customer and developed a technical solution consisting of a platform scale<\/strong><\/a> with dimensions of 1500 mm x 1500 mm with a maximum load of 3 tons and a control cabinet for outdoor installation<\/a> to house the weighing electronics<\/a> and the receipt printer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Implementation<\/h3>\n\n

The control cabinet is developed and manufactured entirely in-house at ESSMANN | Waagen & Automation.\nFor this purpose, ESSMANN | Waagen & Automation has the appropriate production capacities as well as its own electrical and metal workshop. <\/p>\n\n

ESSMANN | Waagen & Automation offers various options for controlling a platform scale.<\/p>\n\n

In this case, the scale is not integrated into a computer network or connected to the weighing software EWP<\/strong><\/a> weighing software.\nHowever, in order to provide the customer with a convenient, simple and fast way to implement material management, an EWS-8000E weighing electronics<\/strong><\/a> is installed. <\/p>\n\n

ESSMANN | Waagen & Automation has developed its own software for these weighing electronics for easy operation by the weigher.\nThis system for self-service of the scale is coupled with a receipt printer in a protective housing.\nThe print image for the weighing slip\/receipt can of course be customized. <\/p>\n\n

Despite the tight market situation, the company’s very high level of in-house vertical integration means that even demanding and customized projects can be implemented very quickly.<\/p>\n\n
