As part of the modernization and plant expansion of Vereinigte Asphalt-Mischwerke GmbH & Co. KG (VAM) at the Wittenborn site, the integration of an additional truck scale was planned. The solution for this came from HE Wägetechnik Horst Eßmann GmbH.
The new truck scales were planned for installation below the new mixing plant in order to load the exact order quantity from production onto the truck in future. If the mix is now dosed from one of the silo outlets, the 24 m long scales installed underneath ensure that the loading quantity is monitored and thus exact loading is guaranteed. Overloading or underloading of the vehicles is now avoided. Freight capacities are optimally utilized and time-consuming and cost-intensive unloading and reloading is completely eliminated. This was a particularly important criterion for the fast and uncomplicated handling of small quantities, especially as there were always difficulties with the invoicing of excess quantities.
So that the person collecting the material can also follow the progress of the loading process, the quantity of material already loaded is shown on a large-digit remote display. The remote display is suitable for outdoor use – in a stainless steel housing – and is designed for reading distances of up to 25 m.
The truck scales from the HE-SFW series installed here are a system made of precast concrete components. The weighbridge construction consists of two half-shell elements, into each of which the weighbridge is pre-assembled at the factory. This system offers a short construction time (approx. 4 hours), with high dimensional accuracy and low weight of the components. Due to the low construction height, the costs for the
Earthmoving work (excavation and backfilling) correspondingly low. The scale can be accessed via 4 access openings for servicing and cleaning purposes.
