A public weighbridge enables the general public to weigh vehicles. These scales are calibrated and checked by the Weights and Measures Office. The operating personnel are also trained and tested by the Weights and Measures Office.

Especially during the vacation season, many people often load their camper, van, caravan or motorhome above the maximum permitted weight. This not only poses a safety risk for passengers and other road users, but can also result in severe penalties. A fine may be imposed if the vehicle is overloaded by as little as 2% of the total weight.

Drivers who suspect that their vehicle is overloaded should have it weighed before departure. A public scale is suitable for this.

How can I weigh my car, camper, caravan or motorhome?

The publicly appointed weigher carries out the weighing on the public scales. The weighing result is certified by his signature and stamp on the weighing card.
