Project overview: Safety and performance at the highest level

Two HE-SFK 30 WHG underfloor truck scales including V100 remote displays and a Profinet connection were installed here. The scales are used in daily operations for the delivery and collection of sewage sludge and recyclates such as ash, sand and gypsum. The volume of vehicles is up to 70 trucks per day.

The special feature: Due to the sensitive environment directly on the sewage treatment plant site, the scales were not only equipped with stainless steel components, but also designed in accordance with the German Water Resources Act (WHG) – for maximum protection of the soil and groundwater.

HE-SFK 30 WHG: Designed for the highest environmental requirements

The HE-SFK 30 WHG below-ground scales were specially developed for use in areas with water-polluting substances. In the context of sewage treatment plants, this means that liquids that could escape during the delivery of sewage sludge or during cleaning work must not seep into the ground.

The technical implementation includes:

  • Foundation troughs with crack width restriction ≤ 0.1 mm
  • Special joint designs and sealing materials
  • Use of stainless steel components for corrosion protection and hygiene
  • Fully dissipative design to detect and control liquid leaks

With this design, the scales meet all the requirements of the WHG and enable safe, legally compliant operation – a real plus for environmental protection and sustainability.

Efficient operation thanks to smart peripherals

Both scales are equipped with V100 remote displays for clear, easily visible display of the weighing results. They guarantee

  • Clear weight display in real time
  • Good legibility even in direct sunlight
  • Robust, weather-protected design for outdoor use

The scales are connected via Profinet – a widely used, high-performance fieldbus standard in industrial automation. This provides an efficient and future-proof solution for integration into the existing control system of the wastewater treatment plant.
