Over 30 years ago, ESSMANN began developing its own ESSMANN weighing program – EWP for short. What was conceived back then as a practical and future-proof software tool for weighing technology has now served its purpose for three decades and fulfilled its objectives:

Since 1996, EWP has been deployed more than 1,000 times in various configurations. EWP and its streamlined version, EWPsmart, support agricultural operations during harvest season, as well as modern waste-to-energy plants, building materials companies, recycling facilities, raw material traders, logistics centers, and many other businesses where weight data must be reliably recorded, processed, and documented on a daily basis—to this very day!

Of course, EWP has been continuously refined, expanded, and adapted to the real-world needs of our customers over the decades.

Countless customizations, interfaces, and enhancements have been developed over this period. That is precisely what defines EWP to this day: It was never off-the-shelf software, but rather weighing software born in the heart of scale manufacturing—developed by people who know what can happen to a scale in everyday use. The ESSMANN weighing program EWP is now entering a phase of phased retirement.
