Tractor Pulling Seifertshofen: daredevils in their flying boxes

Agriculture, Event, Sponsorship

It was too hot, too crowded, too loud – and yet, or perhaps because of this, it was a fascinating event: 59 highly tuned land vehicles took to the starting line at the Tractor Pulling at the Swabian Farmers’ and Technology Museum in Seifertshofen at the weekend. And all of them had to be weighed on our ESSMANN HE-TS 6 road vehicle scales beforehand.

It was a hot, dusty Saturday in this tranquil town in Swabia when over 10,000 people came to the grounds of the Swabian Farmers’ and Technology Museum to be amazed! The agricultural machinery from the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland and Germany that was to compete here was anything but ordinary! The vehicles from the free class (modified) in particular were spectacularly equipped with aircraft turbines and tank engines. The polished chrome flashed in the summer sun, and when the horsepower monsters made their appearance, the engines thundered so that the ground shook!

But before that could happen, they all had to go on our vehicle scales. One vehicle after another, from the small garden pullers to the large super stick tractors, rolled over our HE-TS mobile vehicle scales, which can determine the weight to an accuracy of 500 grams. The garden pullers were particularly enthusiastic about the high resolution of our road vehicle scales, as every kilo counts in their class and an extra scale would otherwise have to be provided for them.

High resolution, easy installation

The HE-TS truck scale is a solid welded steel construction that is easy to assemble and move without the need for a crane. The shortest form of 6 meter weighing platform can be extended up to 24 meters and is also available as a heavy-duty version for higher axle loads. It is, of course, calibratable and can also be easily hired from us for temporary use.

11 classes, 32 full pulls

Divided into 11 vehicle and weight classes, 59 vehicles took to the starting line to pull a brake van as far as possible with bio-diesel or methanol, lots of noise, steam and smoke, while a weight presses heavier and heavier on the brake skid. A total of 32 vehicles managed a full pull over the distance of their class.

In the heat, however, some vehicles literally blew off their sheet metal, engines simply stopped or engine parts flew through the air under pressure. But nobody was hurt and everyone had fun.

The results can be found on the website of the Deutsche Trecker Treck Organization e.V. DTTO: Results Seifertshofen 2023.

The following tractor-pulling events will still take place in Germany in 2023:

  • 27.8. – Halen, Niedersachsen
  • 1st-9th – Sonsbeck, NRW
  • 9.-10.9. – Kalkar, NRW
  • 30.9.-1.10. – Schlechtenwegen, Hessen
